Advisory

Two Distinct Ways I Work With Leaders

Every engagement begins with a simple question:  What does this moment require?

For some leaders, the work is private and invisible — a confidential thinking partnership. For others, the moment demands visible, disciplined execution inside the organization.

I offer two advisory modalities, each designed for a different kind of leadership need.

Private CEO Advisory

Fractional Chief of Staff

Fractional Chief of Staff

A consigliere-style service.

This is a private, senior partnership for CEOs navigating moments that carry weight — inflection points, transitions, cultural fractures, executive team strain, or decisions with strategic, operational, or human consequence.

In this role, I operate outside the organization. Most people will never know I exist. The work is quiet, direct, and grounded in truth.

What this work looks like

  • Private counsel on decisions with consequence
  • A sounding board for identity, conviction, and leadership presence
  • Navigation of complex or politically sensitive situations
  • Support through strain, conflict, or leadership fatigue
  • Truth‑telling when the environment is noisy or distorted
  • A place to think out loud without performance or fear

What you can expect

  • Absolute confidentiality
  • A clear, unvarnished point of view
  • A partner who has carried responsibility himself
  • A disciplined approach to decision‑making
  • A focus on what is essential and what is right. Not just what is urgent or expedient.

This is not coaching. It is not consulting. It is private counsel for leaders who carry responsibility.

Fractional Chief of Staff

Fractional Chief of Staff

A visible, embedded, execution‑driven partnership.

Some moments require more than counsel. They require execution, alignment, and operational clarity inside the organization. The Fractional Chief of Staff role is a visible, embedded partnership designed to drive a critical initiative, stabilize a leadership team, or create the operating rhythm a CEO needs to lead effectively.

This is not an administrative role. It is a senior operator who brings order, alignment, and disciplined execution.

Where this role is most effective

  • Driving a strategic initiative that must succeed
  • Establishing or repairing the CEO’s operating system
  • Aligning an executive team around priorities
  • Managing cross‑functional work that lacks ownership
  • Creating clarity in environments with competing agendas
  • Acting as a stabilizing force during transitions or restructurings

What this work looks like

  • Visible leadership inside the organization
  • Direct engagement with executives and teams
  • Translating strategy into execution
  • Prioritization, sequencing, and operational discipline
  • Removing friction and clearing the CEO’s path
  • Ensuring the right work gets done, in the right order

Depending on scope and cadence, this role may be performed by me or by a senior member of my team.

Engagement Structure

Both modalities share the same principles:

  • One‑to‑one partnership
  • Direct access
  • No layers, no dilution
  • Cadence shaped by the moment
  • Absolute discretion

The structure adapts to the leader and the situation — not the other way around.
